Alone and Isolated
This is a Finding Words story!
My wife had a stroke 2 years ago and was not expected to live. She went through weeks of intensive care and several complications but did recover. She now is healthy but handicapped and unable to speak. I have been able to get her to utter a few words and communicate with signs and facial expressions. She can read but cannot write. There is some connection between her reading and speaking. I can only continue to work with her and keep her good company so that she is not left to feel alone.
