What is Dysphasia?
Dysphasia is an alternate term for aphasia. Some suggest that “dysphasia” was originally used to describe a less severe form of aphasia. In current usage in the United States, aphasia is the preferred term to describe the language impairment at all severity levels. The term “dysphasia” might still be used interchangeably by some doctors and speech-language pathologists. It is easy to confuse it with “dysphagia,” which refers to impairments with swallowing.
